Forgiven People

Matthew 12:31 Therefore, I tell you every sin and blasphemy will be forgive people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Jesus died to forgive all our sins. Can we forgive each other? Many times, I have had my feelings hurt, my heart broken, and we all have at some time. However, I must admit, at times, it is difficult to forgive and move on. My feelings want to hold on to the pain. My feelings want to be vindicated. My feelings want the other to know, feel and experience the same pain that was caused to me. In no way shape or form is it ok to cause me such sorrow, only to continue with your merry life as if all is well. However, then I come to the realization, that only God can vindicate me and restore my joy.

We are indeed a forgiven people. We who have caused others so much pain. You see I come to the realization, when I’m on the other side, that I too have caused others pain. I too have left a mark on another. I too am guilty. I am guilty. However, the Holy Spirit continues to forgive. The Holy Spirit continues to convict. The Holy Spirit continues to expose a newness of life, another opportunity of redemption. The Holy Spirit exposes faults not to condemn. However, to mend hearts. To bolster relationships, to restore, and shore up those open wounds. To convict us of a better way. A better way to respond to those things and happenings of life that we do not agree. A better way to handle differences of opinion and thought. A better way to foster the covenant with the Father so that we may see His goodness before us. So that we may forgive people.

For those torrid life happening, it is not the people we see that are doing us wrong. It is the sin, the stronghold, the principalities that lie within. Help us see the goodness that lies within our brothers and sisters. The Holy Spirit forgives and pardons us again, again and again. Life is found in the Holy Spirit. There is a spring in our step, a leap in our jump and a hallelujah praise that cannot be denied. The Holy Spirit heals.

Let us be encouraged to forgive today. So that the Holy Spirit can forgive us. So that the HolySpirit can pardon us. So that the Holy Spirit can retore relationships today. So that

Holy Spirit can be allowed to strengthen us and break down our pride, and those fleshly sins that keep us from forgiving. We are a forgiven people and must extend that forgiveness to others. Father help us to forgive is our prayer. Amen.
