eremiah 10:23 I Know lord, that our lives are not our own, that we’re not able to direct our paths.
There is comfort in knowing that our lives are not my own. We make mistakes and hurt others. However, therein lies comfort still that our live are not our own. If I’m honest open and transparent, I must admit that this knowledge gives me an ease and flow that brings about peace and calm, that is if I can remember that He has it all in His hands. How many times have we forgotten in the middle of that thing, when we are upset, anxious, worried, doubtful, and even afraid, that our Father has it all in His hands. When there is conflict, Psalms 29:11 tells us, “The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless HIs people with peace.” It is His peace that reminds us our lives are not our own. During the conflict, as we try to please Him, we have a merry pep in our hearts and in our step. His word tells us, in Proverbs 16:7 that, “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Enemies, a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something. Imagine, someone that is not for you. God, steps in and convicts our enemies to come alongside us and provide a helping hand. Even in their disdain for us, they get the can’t help its and help us out anyway.
Our lives are not our own. We are property of the Father. Crafted and created for His will. Designed for a purpose He knows. He keeps us encouraged to journey for Him. He keeps us encouraged so we do not slip. Psalm 18:36, “You make a wide path for me to walk on so that my feet do not slip.” Our lives are not our own. Our daily walk with Him. Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your favor our horn is exalted. Psalm 89: 15-17. When we know our lives are not our own, we can laugh at life’s happenstance. We can have joy, not be happy based upon our situation. However, have joy that God has already worked it out for us. Have joy as we are going through. Have joy as we experience heartache. He gives us joy. Psalm 16:11 tells us that, You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Isaiah 55:12 tells us that, “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Our lives are not our own. Our lives are in the hands of God. Our lives are supposed exemplifies the nature of who He created us to be. The hurt, the pain, the stains of this life are casted off and the goodness of who He created us to be shines forth brightly when we live life knowing it all belongs to Him. Our lives are not our own. Our lives exposed to the light allows for justice and peace to dwell together in harmony. Our lives not being our own, we step out of His way as His will is done in our lives.
