Job11:18 And you will feel secure because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security.
Hope and security are pillars that some of us adults build our lives around. The education gives us hope for a better future as we diligently grind to obtain that college, or for some, those college degrees. For others, once the degree is obtained, it is the job that we get and the salary that goes along with it. For others still, it may not be the first job, it may be the office versus the cubicle, or the twenty staff members we supervise versus the fifty that a peer or friend does. Yet, still for others, it does not end there but continues until that last day whereby we retire after the 30-year bid and leave out the door with the clock or pen after so many years of service. Go figure what we adults look towards for hope and securty.
However, to put our hope in Jesus. To take security in who He is, what He has done, can and will do. Nothing compares to that hope and security on this earth, on this side of the Jordan. You see saints with hope, trust, faith, and belief in God all things are possible as it states in Philippians 4:13. With hope in God, saints that bad workday, seems just a little bit brighter because we know in the grand scheme of life, that work situation is not so bad. When we compare the death on the cross to two co-workers that cannot get along, it is not so bad. When we compare death on the cross to a supervisor whose patience has run thin with the shenanigans of staff, it is not so bad. When we compare death of Jesus on the cross to these real-life situations. He made it through all of that, we can too saints. His death, resurrection, the life He lived and dispalyed, the humility He lived not showed, but lived, gives hope. It gives hope that what we have deemed unfathomable and impossible is coming and we will be victorious, It gives hope.
Security is found in turning it all over to Him. What is your it today, saints? What is your it? Whatever our its are today, He already knows. May I encourage us all that our its are possible to defeat. May I encourage us today that our security is found in turning it all over to Him. Leaving it at His throne. Having faith, the size of a grain of mustard seed, that He has our back, our front, and our side. He has our top and our bottom. He is that shield of protection that stands guard over us at every moment. He is our security, not the bank, not the house, not our parents, not even the kids. Not the job, the car, the vacation home or even the spouse. However, our Father, the one and true living God is our security. He is our security of life being all right. He is our security that what we see, and experience is not the end. He is our security saints. He is the security of source that allows resources to flow in our direction.
Let us praise Him today for being our hope. Let us praise Him today for being our security. Let us praise the Lord today for all that He has done and continues to do each day and moment of our lives. If He does not do another thing, He has done more than enough in allowing His best, His one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. He has does more than enough in allowing us to place our hope and security in Him.
