Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart and the hill be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed say the Lord, who has mercy on you.
What does God’s Covenant of Peace look like? May I share that I don’t know, but He is continuing to show me. Lol! Every time I think that I have my emotions under control and in check- there is yet another situation to test me saints. Test if I will lay my Queendom clothes aside and allow the enemy to take control and reign. For those that don’t know me, I am a calm soul. I may think to highly of myself, but I am for the most part.
This passage of scripture speaks of the issue of life, I.e., the mountains and hills. It speaks of our Daddy, our Father’s kindness not leaving us during the circumstances of life. It also speaks of the covenant of peace we have with our Father. The covenant being an agreement, bond, pact, contract, commitment, and/or pledge. The idea that the peace of our Father is not and will not be taken away or removed. It is a guarantee. He goes on to say that I said it and so it is and it is so because He has mercy on us.
What a promise saints, what a promise. You see in His promise we can count on, no matter how bad or dire the situation may be. His presence is still there. However, can we see it. Are we restful, prayerful and still to hear Him? This journey life experience is personal. This journey life experience with our Daddy and Father is relational. It’s not religion, but the church. In Greek, the word is ekklesia meaning people assembled. In Christian use, means the Lord Assembly, or all those who have been called out by God and joined together (assembled) in His body, the body of Christ.
May I share last week, my covenant of peace was tested. Sorely, tested. The Christian fellowship of ladies that I have been blessed to join asked that I choose the next book to read. However, how many of you know that to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. Let’s just say there was one who was not a good follower. In my flesh, I felt some kind of way. However, in His will my prayer was that His kindness shall not depart from me. However, this prayer in my flesh was like going up to the ceiling and bouncing back to earth like a rubber ball. Useless and going nowhere fast. Yet, I continued to ask, seek and knock as it says is Matthew 7:7, because I do want to grow in my Father’s ways. I do want to exhibit Christlike character to all of God’s children. However, He and the enemy will continue to test us saints. To see if we really do want to take up our cross and bear it like He did in His crucifixion. This Christlike journey is not easy or for the faint of heart.
However, His covenant of peace is guaranteed to be with us. His covenant of peace is a promise He has supplied. His covenant of peace can’t be taken, but we can give it up in a willing submission to the enemy. In asking, seeing and knocking. May I share He showed out in so many ways. You see saints the enemy in this situation tried to play on my insecurities. He tried to play on my people pleasing demon. He tried to play on my past rejections, bringing them up yet again. However, our Father, our Daddy, our Healer and Protector. He showed up and showed out.
Saints, all in one day, He first had someone reach out to me and inquire about proving a word of encouragement and have loving conversation. A gift from our Father I know. He then had me read a daily devotional calendar that my sister friend who invited me to join this same group of ladies had given me or my birthday that said and I quote, “Lord, move me into powerful ministry that will impact the lives of others for Your kingdom and Your glory. I humble myself under Your mighty hand. O God, knowing that You will lift me up in due time, I reach out for Your hand today so I can walk with You into the future You have for me. A prophetic blessing that can only come from Him. May I share that it had me stutter reading as I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. Thirdly, He had my cousin reach out to me to say good morning and share a story of rejection that she was currently experiencing. A true reward to say that I was not alone, He is bringing others with me on this journey of healing in this covenant of peace. Saints, oh but He didn’t stop there. When I read the verse of the day, in my Bible app on my phone it was Matthew 5:44 which says: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Glory hallelujah, confirmation in His word. You see His B.I.B.L.E, these basic Instructions before leaving earth. The final word from our Daddy during this time was later that same evening, when we studied together from Romans 7 and it was shared in summary that we are in a constant battle of this flesh with the spirit. However, our Father will always get the victory. We must simply submit to His will and remain in the covering of His covenant of peace to experience His mercy and extend it to others.
You see the old me would have left the group. The old me was trying to rise inside and not like any of her GroupMe posts throughout the day. The old me would have told hundreds of people instead of taking it to Him, our Father. I share with a couple of people, but not hundreds. The old me wanted to perform in so many ways. However, in this battle, I chose Him. I made a conscience effort to choose His covenant of peace. It was not easy, but with each challenge, each trial, may I share with you that it has gotten easier. Our Father wants progress not perfection. You see He fights our battles as Mother Ward shared, a friendly reminder, a couple of days ago. You see these challenges come to remind of His kindness. These challenges come to remind us to turn it over to Him. He is in control anyway. So let’s cast our caress on Him because He cares for us, as it says in I Peter 5:7.
So let us be encouraged today saints to stay in His covenant of peace, because when the mountains and hills pass, as they surely will, His covenant of peace will remain as His mercy when we extend His kindness. His covenant of peace is a hedge of protection. It surrounds and covers us in His attributes. His kindness, His gentleness, His humility, His love, His peace, everything that our Father is. It is all there as an inheritance to us, as His kingdom children. We choose to accept it and put it on display for others to see Him. We choose to give it up during times of trouble. You see saints, no one can take our covenant of peace. However, with a quick spiteful word to another, we can give it up. Going tit for tat, you do me wrong, so I am going to do the same to you. We can give it up. How about, what’s going on in the world today. I disagree with what the President is doing, so I too am going to share that spiteful meme that demeans another on Facebook. The enemy is so sly, that sometimes, we do it without even noticing that we have. Hence the prayer, forgive me for those sins I unknowingly commit.
However, again, let us be encouraged, because there is so much joy in His covenant of peace. It is always there. He is always covering us. He is always present with us. Let us just take a moment to be still and listen, because His answer, Him being THE answer is the only way to magnify, glorify and tell others of His goodness. So I encourage us all to remain in His covenant of peace no matter what happens in this life journey experience, because it is there where living truly does take place.
