Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
May I ask what’s more important to us saints? The perfect will of God or conforming to this world? I know the right answer that seems politically correct and most logical as a Christian is the perfect will of God. Yet do we find ourselves conforming to this world? Do we find ourselves saying yes to going out for drinks with a friend when He has delivered us from addiction? Do we find ourselves guilted into going bowling on Wednesday night when we are responsible for teaching bible study on that same day and time? Do we conform to this world Monday through Saturday, yet on Sunday we are looking for the perfect will of God. Do we conform watching worldly beyond the normal worldly television, but when other saints come over suddenly, the television is turned to TBN, 700 Club, ror WJYS. Do we conform to this world in our thought life, but in our speech, it’s Amen and Hallelujah? Do we conform to this world in being impatient in our home with family but exhibit His peace and joy to those that only know our public persona? Do we conform to this world with our Facebook and Instagram pages with speech and pictures that would make a newborn baby blush, but when around fellow Christians our content is suddenly washed by the blood? No judgement by any means, just personal self-awareness checks for us all.
Is this the perfect will of God? Is this the characteristics of His kingdom daughter and son? Only He can be the judge. Yet as we are called to renew our mind to be transformed, it is in this transformation where His perfect will becomes present and apparent. It is in this transformation that an opportunity is presented to prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
This opportunity is not something to take lightly, shirk or shrink away from but we should take it seriously. Because what awaits us on the other side is something only He a good Father can provide. It’s peace during personal and worldly persecution and turmoil. It’s joy when the generational curse or stronghold on your family is in relentless pursuit. It’s lovingkindness to those that mistreat us. It’s gentleness when the harshness of life’s response to our dire situations is anything but kind. It’s healing for that mind that continues to spin and twirl looking for an answer or solution to the current issue before the next issue can resurrect its ugly head. It’s freedom from bondage so strong that the taste, feel, power, and strength of that liberty can ONLY come from the creator and sustainer of it all.
So, let us rejoice, praise and give thanks to the one and only God. He transforms and renews our mind, so that we may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of Him. So be encouraged saints, because of the transformation into the likeness of Him. The renewing of our mind meditates of His spiritual concepts. The proof of what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God allows others to see His glory through us.
So be encouraged today saints. Let us be encouraged to continue to do the perfect will of God.
Amen. Being transformed by the renewing of our minds as believers is definitely a process. We must stay close to Him daily and ask for His will, plans and purposes. After all, Father God knows best! Thank you for sharing this post. 😊
