Psalm 116: 8 & 9 For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from falling, I will walk before the Lord In the land of the living.
Our Father has called for us to live. He has called for us to live the abundant life that He promises in His word. The land of the living is filled with many circumstances’ saints. It’s filled with childhood years where parents are hopeful for the future of their children. It’s filled with unknown opportunities that at the onset we may not be so sure of embarking upon. It’s filled with wonder as new friendships, relationships, and partnerships are formed. It’s filled with transition whether it’s leaving the comfort of home to go away to college. Leaving mom and dad to get married and form your own nest. Or the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one as they journey home to be with the Lord. The land of the living is filled with many situations and circumstances.
Yet saints He delivers us from death, from tears and our feet from falling. He won’t allow us to give up when life circumstances become too much. He won’t allow us to give up when fear tries to immobilize us. He won’t allow us to give up when anxiousness and worry tries to threaten our peace. He won’t allow us to give up when others don’t believe in the direction, He has told us to go. He won’t allow us to give up.
He dries our tears saints. He dries our tears when the sorrow causes a down pour. He dries our tears when it seems as if the darkness will overshadow the light. He dries our tears when the fear is so powerful, we are shaking and trembling. He dries our tears when that baby who we’ve watched grow heads out to the world with a bold confident stride filled with His purpose. He dries our tears as we hand off our daughters to the man who promises to love, honor, and cherish. He dries our tears when life takes unexpected turns that we could not fathom or foresee. He dries our tears when we lose a loved one and think we can’t go on.
He keeps our feet from falling by giving us a reason to continue pressing forward in life. He keeps our feet from falling as even in contrast everything is working out for our good as it says in Romans 8:28. He keeps our feet from falling by keeping us focused on the journey He’s placed us on as a travel towards His purpose for us. He keeps our feet from falling as He uses our words, circumstances, situations and testimony to encourage others. He keeps our feet from falling as we live to help others and be a beacon of light for His glory.
Father is there to keep us during our perceived death circumstances. He dries our tears during this time to keep us pressing on in His name, so that we can walk before Him in the land of the living. We can’t die with our Father. We have tears of joy not sorrow. We K.I.M. – keep it moving because our God, our Lord, our Creator and sustainer keeps us moving forward to the purpose for which He has created, designed and predestined us.
So, let us saints continue because death and life cannot both live. So, let us die to the sorrowful tears and continue to walk in and towards the living with His people in His purpose for which He created us. So, let’s choose to live in the land of the living because this is what He has created us for. So. in obedience and willing submission saints continue to live in the land of the living until He calls us home.
