John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
There is a meme or saying, not sure of the correct terminology. It states, “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Choose wisely.” It makes me think of all the choices I’ve made. God tells us in his word that in the world we will have tribulation. It is filled with it. So, why, oh why, ae we ever amazed when life is hard? I laugh, because as I write, please know I am talking to myself as well. I am always amazed, irritated, and sometimes angry at life’s hard.
Yet, I continue to stand and sit in a place of thanksgiving and gratefulness, that He has overcome the world. His overcoming the world for us, what a gift! These hards’ are nothing. Please don’t misunderstand. As we experience them, they feel, appear, seem and are hard. However, we already have the victory. Our victory is in Him. The hard is a temporary worldly problem. Yet, the problem really is not a problem. It is an illusion if we choose Him. He has taken care of the problem already. It is here in this scripture verse. Yet again, our wishes and desires appear extremely and of utmost importance. Imposed upon His will and desire. Choose Him as He has already overcome our worldly circumstances.
Meditating on the problem, marriage, finance, communication, body, the never-ending list. There is no joy there, tribulation is riddled in it all. Choose good cheer. Choose His peace. All which He so gladly and freely provides. Choose Him today and let go of the hard as He has already overcome the world. In Him, hard does not exist. In Him there is no hard because He has already overcome the hards for us. So, do not go back and pick them up. Humbly leave them with Him. Casting all our cares on Him because He cares for us, as it says in I Peter 5:7.
Reside in Him and abide with Him, and see that our hards are not so.
