The Desires of Your Heart

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Father thank you for desire, the desire to please you in all our ways. The desire to have a relationship with you. Thank you, Lord. Thank you for always being present with us. Thank you for the triumph that comes after the trial. Thank you for the untold blessings we are to experience today. In Jesus name. Amen.

It is truly a test to delight ones self in the Lord when things are not going the way we think they should. For me this week has been filled with instances of me giving and issuing directives that made sense to me and was shunned. I must admit, I felt less as a team member and more of an outsider. My feelings were hurt. You see the team which I work with I do not see. My negative self talk, not worthy, not enough was loud, and present. The enemy knows our triggers. He knows the bittersweet nothing that He desires for us to think and feel.

However, as I stayed in His presence and sought His face, He proved who He is over and over in the situation that surrounded me. He allowed me to talk with Him corporately on the Oakdale Covenant Church family’s prayer line daily for six days during the week to start my day. He allowed me to have prayer daily with Way of Holiness prayer line at the onset of my day, reading scripture, praying, and calling out the names on the prayer list. To get me over the midday work week hump, He gave me an opportunity to tune in with the Christ Disciple Baptist Church family prayer service on the prayer line on Wednesday at noon. He gave me comfort in the midst. His loving arms wrapped around me to help me see Hiim at work. Learning along the way. Not resisting the direction, He was pulling, pushing, and leading me. Being submitted to the authority He has placed in my life during this season. Yet again, calling on me for a willing, humble obedient submission to Him. Yet another reminder to delight myself in Him. Delight yourself in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Father, thank you for desire today. The desire to make bold requests. The desire to see our situation change. Father thank you for joy today. Father thank you for making life possible. Thank you for the smile on our face Lord. May we see you. In Jesus name. Amen
