A New Creature

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Father thank you for doing a new thing. You know your children and what we need. May the join of you be in our hearts. May the love of you be in our talk, and actions Lord. You’ve called us to be the body of you on this earth, may we not loose sight of that. May we grasp a hold of the new thing you are doing within us. This is our prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.

God is always doing a new thing. It is intriguing to look backward and see the journey of life that he has each of us on. For me, may I share that when I look back even on this week, I can see Him working. New adventures have been on the horizon for the entire year.

First it was being present with my emotions, reaching out to others asking for help, and speaking up for myself with those close to me. Most recently, I’ve started on a writing adventure. All this from a 20+ year introvert. Who would have thought that I would come out of my shell so boldly and confidently? My heavenly lovingly caring Father who was rooting for me all along.

Well, this adventure opened up a number of doors. It allowed me to fellowship and bask in the presence of other authors while also allowing me to sell my sweet-smelling candles. However, it was a rocky start. The text stream between the publisher and I was filled with a rude comment, which I did not see initially. A co-worker whom I shared my newest venture with, pointed it out to me. May I share one of my triggers is the tone and manner that people talk. Seeing the comment, my spirit was vexed. However, in the stillness and quiet, God worked on me. He helped me hold my peace and silence. He worked on my heart which wanted oh so badly to turn tail and not show up. He allowed me to talk it over with my friend and spouse and turn away from comments meant to help but would have kept me from His promise. He continues to birth the new creature from within. Thank you, Daddy. He caused the publisher to send me a text in a tone of sweetness, kindness, gentleness and joy. No amount of talking I could or would have done could do this, this is who our Dad is when we, His children, exhibit His Christlike character, in spite of life’s unliked circumstances.

Father thank you for the newness of life. Thank you for another change to show others and the world at large who you are. Thank you for the shaping and molding you continue to do on our behalf. Thank you for your patience in birthing the new creature from within. This is out humble prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.
