Attend to My Prayer

Psalm 61: 1 and 2 Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Time and time again God gives us an opportunity to take our problems to Him in prayer. He gives us an opportunity for conversation with Him. Real conversation that lays bare all our troubles and worries. There troubles and worries, this conversation with Christ allows us to cast off jealousy, covetousness, envy, pain, shame, pride and other ungodly sins in our lives. God attends to prayers. He attends to our prayers with changing our response to the siutation or changing the situation. Can we see Him in the mundane and simple acts? May I share that I needed a pen in church service. Little did I know five minute later at the church my family was visiting, the Pastor would ask all visitors to stand and be recognized. Part of that recognition of course is to complete a visitor card. Of course, to do that I needed a pen, which the usher provided with the visitor card. So grateful and thankful for God.

Father help us be obedient to you. Not be in your way Father and yet ever present in your will. May I share that a couple of months ago a friend of mine shared that she was invited to go out to eat with a group of women and she really did not want to go. I encouraged her to go, she rarely gets out. Married with three kids, it is hard to get away. Shortly thereafter, her husband who had been ministering to a man at their church asked her to talk with the wife. Which appeared to be so strange. How, can someone minister to you in marriage out of the blue and you’ve never met or spoken? My friend questioned how appropriate that would be and how awkward it could be. Low and behold, God performed yet another miracle as He always does. He allowed my friend to fellowship at dinner. God allowed her to sit next to and have wonderful conversation with the husband’s wife after all, that was staged by the one and only God. So glad that God attends to our prayers. So thankful and grateful that He knows what we need, even when we ourselves are at a lost.

God is always amid prayer. Let us take our petition to Him. Let us continually be present to His call on our lives. Always running to talk to Him. Always waiting to hear His response to our cries. Knowing, touching, agreeing, and believing, He has already worked it out. Like eagles, let us soar so high because our trust in Him finds new strength as it says in Isaiah 40:31. We cannot imagine, see, or hear what God has prepared for us, those who love Him as it states in I Corinthians 2:9.

Attend to our prayers Lord. Let us feel and experience your goodness in our hearts and lives. Help us overcome. Help us Father. Help us be who you have called us to be. Let us not be ashamed. However, let us know you Father in the most intimate of ways Lord. The gentleman that you are. Thank you for life today and everyday ever more. Thank you, Father for prayer a means to communicate and hear from you.
