I Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Saints can I share with you that I just left my mother’s house. She is 76 years old and for all my 46 years, I can remember her taking care of someone else. I remember her being a dutiful wife and making sure her alcoholic husband got to work. I can remember her taking care of her ailing mother until her homegoing, my grandmother of course. Even now she is taking care of her 56-year-old daughter who inherited the generational curse.
However, as I sat with her on this evening something, she said struck a chord within me. It caused me to pause. My mind was stuck, and I had nothing to say. I didn’t know what to say. So, as I explained her escrow statement to her, and she elected what she wanted to do. Ok, so at the same time she had been without her car for a week. She lamented and said with a woe is me tone, “As you can see I ain’t got no help.” I was stuck saints. What do you say? What could I say? I didn’t know what to say. You see I didn’t see the situation the same as she did. Yes, I’ve felt as if I didn’t have anywhere to turn before. Yes, I’ve felt as if I didn’t know the answer and what way to go. Yes, I’ve also felt alone to make decisions that I’ve never done before. Yet, I felt stuck.
So, then she went on to say,” and, I have to bring the word tomorrow”. You see she participates and sometimes facilitates her churches prayer line. So, me coming back to myself and my brain starting to work again. I said, “cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you. Come from that I Peter 5:7.” She said, “What’s that?” I jokingly, yet truthfully reminded her that it comes from the bible? Which I might add her two bibles were right there in front of her.
How many times saints have we been so caught up in our situation that the word of God leaves us. How many times have we been so caught up with the pain of our present that we don’t cast it upon Him? How many times has our past affected and navigated our response that we don’t cast it upon Him? May I personally say often. Often for me saints. You see our good Father saw fit to bless us with intellect and the ability to process life situations. He saw fit to bless us with numerous gifts and talents, too many to count. However, in His gifting in no way shape of form did He not want us to rely solely upon Him.
Upon Him we are to count it all joy when we fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience (James 1: 3). Because during these testing times, upon Him, is where we find our strength. Upon Him is where patience grows long. Upon Him is where our fears turn into faith. We feel the fear and step forward, anyway, knowing that He is our protection.
Upon Him we build like the wise man He speaks of in Matthew 7:24 and 25.
“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Because although the tests of life may cause us to doubt and sway, we are still rooted in His word. So eventually we hear from the Holy Spirit receiving direction that continues us on the journey in our purpose.
Upon Him we ask, seek and knock as it says in Matthew 7:7.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Because when we ask, He gives the answer, He seeks to bring us back into right relationship with Him, so that the knock that opens the door is overflowing with His grace and mercy for our horrible situation.
Upon Him are the former troubles forgotten as it says in Isaiah 65:16.
“So that he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth Shall swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes.”
Because the truth is God fights all our battles if we can choose to get out of His way.
So, let us not get so caught up in what we see before us in this world that we can’t be transformed by the renewing of our mind as we focus upon Him, as we turn our tribulation upon Him, as we think upon Him.
So be encouraged today saints. Let us be encouraged to cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us, and it is only upon Him that we can depend. Upon Him, upon Him, upon Him.
I really enjoyed your blog. 😀. It definitely hit home.
